Our core principles and our people statement require and encourage everyone at Harbor Freight to be stewards of this unique culture.

We pride ourselves on delivering value to our hardworking customers, and we wouldn’t be able to do this without all of our amazing associates across our stores, distribution centers, corporate offices, and international offices. We’re committed to creating a great place to work and a fun, exciting work environment, which is why we believe in spreading the #HarborFreightHappy.

Being #HarborFreightHappy means different things to our associates. For some, it’s helping our customers who shop in our stores find the best deals or doing a random act of kindness for a coworker. For others, it’s participating in community events or developing their career path at HFT. Check out some great #HarborFreightHappy stories!

Jessica Gulley“I started my journey at HFT as an assistant manager in Wilmington, NC but my long-term goal was to work at the corporate headquarters, where, I am happy to say, I am now a Senior Business Analyst. I’ve been here almost 9 years, been promoted 4 times, and changed departments 3 times. Harbor Freight has invested in my training and development every step of the way, and everyone has always been so friendly and supportive of me. I love working at Harbor Freight Tools!”

Chris Bunn“When I had decided to look for a new opportunity a couple of years ago, I also decided that I would not compromise on certain things. I wanted to work for a place that put its associates and customers first. I wanted to work for a place that would both challenge and support me. I wanted to work in a TEAM! I found all that and more with Harbor Freight.”

“I had never heard of Harbor Freight to be totally honest when I was initially recruited. Once I did some research though, I knew it was a place that deserved my interest. When I came on board, I discovered that all of the good things I’d read were true and so much more.”

“This company cares about me and my team. This company cares about my ability to lead and invests in that accordingly. I have truly found a place to call home. As long as I’m allowed to be here, I will always be here. I love my job. With all the unique challenges and ups and downs working in retail can provide you with, I can truly say that the support I feel with this company makes me #HarborFreightHappy!”

Matt Cooper“I came to Harbor Freight, burned out on retail, contemplating a complete career change. When I started in 2017, everyone spoke of how the culture was, and how the company really cared. After 15 plus years in retail, it sounded too good to be true. I soon learned that it wasn’t. I felt empowered to make a difference in my store and my team. I felt the growth and development from my leadership. In my 3 years at Harbor Freight, I have had the opportunity to work in many different stores, with different teams, and the results have always been the same. Harbor Freight creates an environment that people want to strive in, provides a clear path to a long term career. I can’t see myself anywhere else.”

Navin Prasad“When I was searching for my next opportunity, I wanted to a part of a company that supported local communities and embodied servant leadership. I am happy to share that after 4 years, the company has surpassed all of my expectations. I am continuously humbled by the work ethic and pride I see in stores every day. The positive atmosphere continues to remind me that I am part of something greater than myself, and I am able to make a meaningful contribution towards providing opportunities for others.”

“I have been fortunate enough to have held positions in both Operations and Human Resources during the course of my career with HFT. Throughout my career, I have experienced an overwhelming amount of support, mentorship and guidance. HFT has created a culture where I can be myself and I know that my unique experiences and perspectives are valued. I am as excited to work for HFT today as I was 4 years ago when I started this journey!”

Kalies DeBerry“My journey at Harbor Freight has been one that has illuminated skills and passion within me that I didn’t even know I had. I have never worked for a company who has valued my growth in such a way. I have had the privilege of working for managers who have not only encouraged my growth, but have propelled me into positions I didn’t even think were a possibility for me. In my four years, I have been transferred three times and each time I have gained more knowledge and empowerment. Growth is not just a gimmick to get you in the door; it is truly ingrained in the culture of HFT. Harbor Freight has changed my life for the better and I am honored to say that I am a member of a team that is built on passion for caring for one another.”

Luis Cardenas“I was hired as an assistant Manager in 2002 at the Simi Valley, CA store. At that time, the company was growing at a fast pace and the need for store managers was extremely high. I applied myself and with extremely good training was able to get promoted to store manager after only one year. The best part of my experiences with Harbor Freight is the vast amount of people I’ve had the pleasure to work with. Many of them have gone on to do great things in their lives. I’d like to think that I, in some ways, was able to help them achieve the goals they set out to accomplish. After 18 years, I still look forward to the challenges I will be presented every day. Harbor Freight has been an awesome experience so far, and I look forward to many more years to come.”

I love working for the company. I would recommend HFT to anyone looking for a place that offers a welcoming environment and opportunities for continued career growth!”
