How Sarah Went from Loyal Customer to Proud Associate

Here (Left Image) is a photo of my dad with his dad, who turned 90 on the Fourth of July (he doesn’t go anywhere without that hat!). My dad and his dad, alike, are career tradesmen, working in construction and knife smithing, dabbling in others, including welding. Upon my grandpa’s discovery of Harbor Freight in the early 80’s as a mail-order company, he was hooked. He has remained a faithful customer ever since, introducing my dad to the store in his early adulthood. My dad’s workshop is almost entirely occupied by Bauer products.

Me, I have been shopping at Harbor Freight for as long as I can remember. I got my first big sewing kit at Harbor Freight, the cherrywood one that unfolded to have multiple compartments. I’ve never stopped doing the wooden puzzles, and hope we never stop selling them. One that I made my dad when I was just 8 years old still sits on his shelf in his workshop, 18 years later. I went camping with the slingshot and flint and steel, and watched Styrofoam airplanes take off down our street, all thanks to Harbor Freight.

Working for Harbor Freight has not only provided me with the best benefits I’ve had in my 12 years of working, but the environment in which I’m working and the people I’m working with are also the most productive, mature, and growth-inspiring bunch I’ve had the luck to work with. I’m currently pursuing college in addition to my role in the corporation, and hope to use my degree to move up within the company when I’m ready.

I’m proud to be given the opportunity to make positive change in my community through genuine interactions.
