Full-Circle Beginning
For Mario, Harbor Freight wasn’t just another place to apply—it was a place filled with memories.
My grandpa used to take me to Harbor Freight Tools as a kid,”
he shared.
“When I was looking for a job out of high school, he suggested I apply. Greatest decision—and suggestion.
That recommendation marked the start of a career that would grow far beyond what he initially imagined.
Building His Path, One Role at a Time
Starting in 2018 as a part-time Stocking Associate in our Simi Valley, California store, Mario quickly embraced each new opportunity that came his way. Over the years, his path has been a testament to what’s possible with hard work and support:
Along the way, he has gained experience across five different store locations, spanning California and Texas—including Simi Valley, Los Angeles, Burbank, Richardson, and now McKinney. “Each move gave me a chance to learn something new, meet different teams, and grow as a leader,” he said.
Growth Beyond Titles
Career advancement at Harbor Freight goes beyond promotions—it’s about continuous learning and development at every stage.
There is a clear path to promotion, and all my leaders focused on my personal development at each stage of my career—from part-time Associate to Store Manager,
he explained. Through hands-on experience, mentorship, and structured training resources, Mario was able to build not just skills, but confidence and leadership capability.
Expanding Opportunities Through Mobility
A key part of this journey has been the opportunity to relocate and grow across different markets. Transitioning from California to Texas brought new challenges, expanded perspectives, and valuable leadership experience. Relocation at Harbor Freight isn’t just about changing locations—it’s about expanding what’s possible in your career.

For Mario, the decision to stay and continue building a career at Harbor Freight comes down to the culture and support behind the work.
I am motivated to continue my career path with Harbor Freight Tools because it truly is the Best Place to Work,” he shared. “I have had countless leaders developing and training me along my HFT journey. There is a clear path to promotion and growth. Development is always the number one topic during visits and conversations with my leaders and with my team.
That consistent focus on growth is paired with a culture that values balance and well-being.
Another reason is that we offer great benefits—one of them being our PTO. I am empowered and encouraged to take time off and spend it with my family. Every time I come back from PTO, I feel recharged and energized to be the best leader I can be for my team.
